<title>Skylight</title>

<description>Skylight
Iyer, Vaidyanathan; Soparkar, Hem; Shah, Aadesh
In today’s age we are constantly searching for various methods of saving energy and designing energy efficient products thereby striving for sustainability. Energy efficient products get manufactured in almost all the day to day appliances we use.Skylight is one such method of making our buildings energy efficient.Skylights are a great addition to any house, as they bring in more natural light – cutting down on artificial light electricity costs, as well as promoting good health for a home’s occupants.Using automatic solar tracking system we make sure that maximum light gets projected into the building naturally thus saving a lot of energy. Solar Tracking makes sure that the concentrated light falls on a cone shaped absorber which then filters the light down to the rest of the building through optical fiber wires of big radius which then diffuses the light into the rooms through the optical diffusers.

<title>Reducing air pollution by renewable energy source</title>

<description>Reducing air pollution by renewable energy source
Tahiliani, Ishwar. N.
Over 50% of greenhouse gas emissions that we produced in our home are caused by heating, air conditioning and water heating, in other words keeping our homes warm in winter, cool in summer and nice hot water on tap is emitting 2.5-5.0 tons of greenhouse gas emissions each year. It also contributes a hefty amount to our electricity bill about 50-60%. Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO), has invented a new solar air conditioning system solution which will reduce greenhouse gas emissions, reducing electricity bills and reduce urge amount of electricity and gas. If every home installs the csiro solar air conditioning system then it would be equal 15 mega tones of CO2 or taking 3.5 million cars off the road. It is three in one innovative technology that provides hot water, cooling and heating. It uses just the fractions of the electrical current systems and half of the gas emissions.

<title>Smart dust</title>
<link>http://27.109.7.66:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/162</link>
<description>Smart dust
Chauhan, Jucy B
Microchip is committed to continuous improvement of our environmental performance through a proactive approach that integrates environmental protection with business goals. Smart dust is a system of many tiny microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) such as sensors, robots, or other devices, that can detect, for example, light, temperature, vibration, magnetism, or chemicals. They are usually operated on a computer network wirelessly and are distributed over some area to perform tasks, usually sensing through radio-frequency identification. Without an antenna of much greater size the range of tiny smart dust communication devices is measured in a few millimetres and they may be vulnerable to electromagnetic disablement and destruction by microwave exposure. A safe and healthful environment is vital to the attainment of Microchip and no undertaking should be considered so important that it be pursued in an unsafe manner.

<title>E-Waste: effects, causes and prevention</title>

<description>E-Waste: effects, causes and prevention
Thappa, Aakash; Raval, Deep; Parikh, Hardi; Bhati, Hariomsinh
Electronic equipment and gadgets are the fastest growing waste stream in many countries now. For many, electronics are a part of life for example cell phones, laptops, TVs, &amp; a growing no. of gadgets. Every year we buy new updated equipments to support our basic needs. Electronic waste is relatively a novel addition to the ever- growing hazardous waste and it contains some very toxic substances. They can cause many health problems like cancer, reproductive disorders, etc. Toxic chemicals in electronics don’t break down over time, instead accumulate in food chain &amp; biosphere. Only a small percentage of e-waste is recycled. Remaining is often dumped or burned in former landfills. The existing management practices related to E-waste in India are reasonably poor and have the potential risk to both human and environment. E-waste has been a problem since years, but growth in technology makes it a crisis today. Hence, the topic chosen deals with the present scenario of e-waste and spread awareness about it.This documentary is based on references from some books, websites, and interviews of experts from VMSS(Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan), Sanjeev Hospital and Kadam Environmental consultants. We cannot stop the use of electronics but in order to save the environment, have to accept measures for dumping e-waste properly. So, our major highlight is based on what is discussed abov
